Production Process of High-Pressure PE Pellets
2025-08-08

High-pressure polyethylene (LDPE) pellets are produced through a high-pressure polymerization process, which transforms ethylene gas into versatile plastic pellets. The production involves several key stages:

  1. Ethylene Compression & Preheating

    • Ethylene gas is compressed to 1,500–3,000 bar and preheated to 150–300°C.

  2. Polymerization

    • In tubular or autoclave reactors, free-radical polymerization converts ethylene into molten LDPE under controlled temperature and pressure.

  3. Extrusion & Pelletizing

    • The polymer melt is extruded, cooled, and cut into uniform pellets (2–5 mm).

  4. Additive Incorporation

    • Antioxidants or UV stabilizers may be blended for enhanced properties.

  5. Packaging

    • Pellets are dried, screened, and packed for shipment.

This process yields LDPE pellets with excellent flexibility, ideal for films, coatings, and wood-plastic composites. Advanced automation ensures consistent quality while meeting environmental and safety standards.
